Our Facilities
Currently, the club owns a large insulated and heated hanger where two of our aircraft are stored and where maintenance is performed. The dimensions are 49 1/2 feet wide with an opening of 43 1/2 feet, and a height of 14 feet with an opening of 12 feet. The depth of the hangar is 48 feet. Two aircraft at slight angles easily fit into this hangar. The hangar door can be adjusted to increase the opening height.
Members can park on either side of the hangar. Since you enter the field through a controlled gate, you can park your car there with relative security for over-night/multiple day trips.
The other two aircraft is kept in nearby T-hangars. Since ALL club airplanes have 4-place intercoms, extra headsets are available for a very small rental fee for those occasions where you might be short a head set.
We maintain a supply of consumables such as oil, landing lights, etc. in the hangar. Cleaning supplies (detergents, cloths, towels) are also kept in the hanger and our members lovingly clean up the aircraft from bugs and other dirt on the windshield, cowlings and leading edges after each flight. Airplane washes are also club social events and are normally concluded with a club meeting, hamburgers, brats and pop. Food is free for those who attend (a “plane wash charge” is paid by those who do not attend).
We encourage the continuous aviation education of our members and provide access to a number of club-affiliated CFIs. We HIGHLY encourage our members to participate in WINGS proficiency training. We also provide an extensive rack with aviation magazines and publications in the hanger. These are donated by club members and are for sharing.
